We gave our first workshop on May 30 at Guzel Bir Gun festival…
We started with a very brief introduction to raw food:
“Raw Food Diet includes fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains uncooked or dehydrated under 45C heat. Raw food is packed with natural enzymes and nutrients that help the body reach optimal health. There are various recipes for raw dishes and mostly very creative. One if the our main dishes is zucchini pasta which is a very common example of raw food diet. Zucchinis are sliced spirally (with a spiralizer) which look like regular spaghetti and can be served with different sauces made with raw veggies/nuts…We use a spinach/basil pesto as a sauce…”
For the workshop we decided to prepare chia pudding with the participants and we gave a brief information on chia seeds:
“Chia is a species of flowering plant in the mint family. It is grown in Mexico and South America. The most known benefit of Chia seeds are they are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. Adding some chia to your diet also helps you get a good amount of fibre, which is important for digestive health. It is also used as a substitute for eggs in plant based cooking, since it turns into a gelatin-like substance when combined with water. “
Then we continued with Chia seed recipe :
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk them for about 5 mins. You see that the the mixture thickens after a while.
Put the mixture in glass jars and put any type of fruits as a topping (we used raspberries, strawberries and mango) and ad some super food ingredients like coconut shreds, cover the jars and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Your puddings are ready to serve…
We really enjoyed our first workshop in this festival and started planning new ones for the coming months…We will hopefully announce our next workshop very soon…
